Origin Family-Centred Maternity Hospital is assisted by a Clinical Governance Committee which includes specialist clinicians and risk managers. This committee advises in terms of policies and procedures, current practices and incident management, ensuring that Origin Family-Centred Maternity Hospital adheres to the highest international standards of safety.
Advocate Graham van der Spuy
Graham is a Member of the Cape Bar and is an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in Cape Town. He specialises in the entire spectrum of medicolegal matters, spanning over 40 years in the High Courts of South Africa.
Mrs Lydia Botha
International Nursing Consultant
Lydia is an international nursing consultant who has been involved in the field of nursing for over 40 years. She has many academic nursing and midwifery qualifications, including a BA Curationis, and a BA Cur Honours in Community Nursing Science, Midwifery, and Psychiatric Nursing Science. Former Head of Nursing for the Western Cape for the Department of Health, she has chaired and been a member of international teams for the accreditation and inspection of hospitals across the globe, from Australia to Saudi Arabia. Her varied and extensive experience includes being Head of Nursing Affairs at several hospitals in Saudi Arabia and the Libyan European Hospital, Benghazi, Libya, and consultant to DENOS Health Management in France and Epos Health Management Services in Germany.
