Hector, Naidoo & Associates Physiotherapy
HNA Physiotherapy offers assessments and treatment rooms in the premises of Intercare in the Panorama Health Care Centre, as well as in the comfort of your own home. They provide quality, client-centred services to women in all life stages, using the latest research and equipment to ensure effective, sustainable results.
Examples of conditions they treat include pregnancy-related joint/muscular pain, pelvic girdle pain, antenatal or postnatal problems associated with pregnancy or childbirth, and incontinence. They also assist after gynaecological surgery such as hysterectomy and pelvic floor repair.
Other services that they provide include antenatal and postnatal Pilates classes, exercise prescription during pregnancy, assessment and treatment in paediatric development, and paediatric respiratory treatment.
The Pilates method is a mind-body centring technique that enhances the importance of beginning movement from a central core of stability. This central core is the lumbo-pelvic region, and consists of a few muscles, namely the transverses abdominus, pelvic muscles, and gluteals. Pilates exercises help to change abdominal patterns of movements caused by muscle imbalances in the body by strengthening and stretching the body and working on precision of movement and awareness of breath control.
During pregnancy the body goes through multiple changes that can be hard on the new mother. Ligamentous structures become much looser around the pelvic area, and can cause pain in the pelvis, hips, and back. Pilates can help to manage this, and help to prepare the body for birth and for recovery afterwards.
Traditional pilates is performed in a more clinical way to help and improve any problems you may be experiencing. In this way we can adjust classes to assist with a specific need, e.g. low back pain, or neck pain, to improve flexibility, or just to improve overall health and function.
We also offer one-on-one sessions.

The HypnoBirthing® Way
Enhanced by relaxation techniques that allow you to use your natural birthing instincts, HypnoBirthing® can help you achieve an easier, faster and more comfortable birth without unnecessary intervention.
How does HypnoBirthing® work?
HypnoBirthing® teaches you to reach a deep state of relaxation using self-hypnosis, a state most people experience at some point every day whilst daydreaming, reading or watching TV.
HypnoBirthing® relaxation allows you to remove unnecessary fear, and where there is no fear, there is no tension, allowing your body to function as it is perfectly designed to in childbirth.
Improved sleep and health through pregnancy
Informs you of the choices you can make about your birth
Reduces the need for pain relief or intervention
Fewer cases of postnatal depression
