Dr Wayne Hough
Dr Wayne Hough decided to pursue a career in general paediatrics because he loves working with and helping children and their families. “I’ve always loved children and admired their capacity for honesty; and I am privileged to be able to make small interventions in their lives that can impact their futures, and their development, in big ways.”
Following the completion of his MBChB, internship and community service, he worked as a medical officer in paediatrics at Tygerberg Children's Hospital for a few years before specialising in Paediatrics. He holds an FC Paeds degree from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa, as well as an MMed (Paediatrics) from the University of Stellenbosch.
Dr Jonda Kerner
Dr Jonda Kerner studied her pre-med degree in Vienna, Austria. Thereafter she trained at Tygerberg Hospital and the surrounding hospitals in the Cape Town area. She worked for six months in Paediatrics in Austria as a Medical Officer before she started her specialisation. Dr Kerner finished her degree in 2002 and worked in the Cape area for one year before setting up in practice.
Dr Hennie Liebenberg
Dr Hennie Liebenberg realised early on in his career as a young doctor that he had an inclination towards paediatrics. “Working with children came easy to me and it quickly became apparent that this was the path chosen for me. I enjoy children’s complete honesty and enormous capacity for healing and forgiveness. As a paediatrician you become your patient’s advocate, which is not only a big privilege but also a big responsibility, something I take great pride in.”
He holds an MBChB and MMed (Paediatrics) from the University of Stellenbosch, and a Diploma in Paediatrics and Child Health and FC Paeds from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
